They had five children: James A., born May 27, 1842, died December 8, 1868; William W., born May 20, 1844, died during the war; Henry J., born February 15, 1847; Lucinda C., born April 6,1852, and Joseph. In 1857, emigrating to St. Clair County, Missouri, Mr. Johnson purchased a tract of land, upon which he settled and lived till his death, April 13, 1859.
